Hunt for History highlights

"Grease me up big boy."

I had a lot of fun at this event. A Shiny Yellow thanks to the rest of Team Uber: Anteb, Aramana, Armaxis, Charna, Fleckle, Kaishaku, Setzier, and Siwas.

First, Charna's log of Setzier raising a puppy, which I had missed...

Setzier says, "Drag it out."

Setzier nods to you.

You kneel down.

You drag the dead puppy from out of the cage.

As you lean forward to pet the puppy, it nudges your hand cautiously.  You sense distress from the beast, as it glances towards the brown spotted puppy.

Setzier just opened a dark studded leather bag.

Setzier removes an obscure scroll from in his leather bag.

Setzier mumbles something that you don't quite catch.

Setzier raises his obscure scroll and gestures.
Sparks begin to fly between the obscure scroll and Setzier's fingers.
With a sudden burst of enthusiasm, the sparks jump into Setzier's hand and he seems to glow with power.

Fleckle raises an eyebrow.

Setzier gestures at the spotted puppy.
A silvery translucent thread extends from Setzier encompassing the puppy's corpse.

The droopy-eyed puppy glances forlornly at the spotted puppy.

You nod.

Fleckle says, "Wow, raising a puppy."

The droopy-eyed puppy barks once at the spotted puppy!

You say, "It's okay little guy... Soon."

Setzier says, "This is the last time I'm saving this critter.  It keeps choking on things."

Setzier raises his obscure scroll and gestures.
Sparks begin to fly between the obscure scroll and Setzier's fingers.
With a sudden burst of enthusiasm, the sparks jump into Setzier's hand and he seems to glow with power.

The droopy-eyed puppy barks once at the spotted puppy!

Setzier gestures at the spotted puppy.
A bolt of soft white light streaks down from the sky bathing the puppy in it.

A brilliant glow forms around the puppy, lingers for a moment, and finally fades.  The spotted puppy awakens looking somewhat confused and seriously drained.

The droopy-eyed puppy glances forlornly at the spotted puppy.

You gesture at Setzier.
The glazed look leaves Setzier.

Fleckle reaches out and touches the dead puppy.  Yup, it's dead.

The droopy-eyed puppy mopes around.

You stand back up.

You dust off a long silvered scorched-hem skirt.

Fleckle leans to his left slightly.

Setzier whispers to the group, "Touched too early, have to let the RT wear off."

Fleckle snaps his fingers.

The spotted puppy suddenly leaps to its feet and begins hacking loudly!  Suddenly, it coughs up a silver key that lands on the floor.  The spotted puppy blinks a few times, glances at the key, and then goes over to sniff at the droopy-eyed puppy.

You chuckle.

Setzier put an obscure scroll in his leather bag.

Setzier picks up a silver museum key.

The droopy-eyed puppy pounces on the spotted one!  They roll along the ground, playfully biting at each other.

You hear a click as Setzier unlocks an intricately carved maoral door.


And now, some more moments that made me laugh.

It's always the quiet ones...

Setzier says, "Someone shove Anteb through."

Anteb says, "Grease me up big boy."

Anteb just nudged Setzier.

Dignity was in short supply that week.

Setzier joins Anteb's group.

Setzier says, "I didn't want you to look sick in Town Center."

Setzier nods.

Setzier spins about out of control then lands flat on his back!

Siwas rolls Setzier over.

Setzier groans.

Siwas says, "As if you cared."

Fleckle chuckles.

(Juspera shakes with silent laughter.)

Siwas walks over and kicks you in the shin!

You haul off and slap Setzier up'side the head!

Siwas sighs.

You shriek!

(Siwas stands between Setzier and Juspera.)

Setzier shifts his weight.

Anteb asks, "Alright... Who DIDN'T see that coming?"

A small squirrel scampers down a tree trunk and runs off across the snow.

Setzier blinks.

You quickly say, "Look, a squirrel."

(Setzier makes a swipe with his foot after the squirrel.)

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.

Aemergin rubs his chin thoughtfully.
Aemergin hands some money to an attendant and pulls a chain.

[Chain Tumblers]
Brightly painted murals cover the ceiling of the small room.  Rows of machines with short chains hanging from them line the walls and are watched over by a small, unobtrusive attendant.  She occasionally pulls one of the chains to make sure the machines are working and goes back to her observations.  You also see a payout sign and an odd looking chain dangling from an even stranger looking machine.

Armaxis swings a severed dark elven leg at you!

   ... and hits for 7 points of damage!
   Thumped your chest.
The guiding force leaves Armaxis.

And now for the biggest laugh of the week... this occurred after much frustration with a certain puzzle.

Aramana gestures at a motherly farmwife.
Aramana hurls a powerful lightning bolt at a motherly farmwife!
  AS: +313 vs DS: +30 with AvD: +50 + d100 roll: +40 = +373
   ... and hits for 250 points of damage!
   Hideously bright electrical bolt sends left leg into another universe.  Happy traveling.

You also see a motherly farmwife that appears dead, the farmhouse back door and a hallway door.

Siwas says, "Ok.. now we're running."

Aramana searches a motherly farmwife.
The farmwife blinks quickly and hops up saying, "Fooled ya, didn't I?"

Aramana blinks.

Siwas laughs!

Your jaw drops.

Setzier laughs!

Siwas falls to the ground laughing hysterically!

Aramana shifts her weight.

Fleckle laughs!

You fall to the ground laughing hysterically!

Aramana says, "Evil woman."
